Renee and Jake’s quintessential summer New England wedding wasn’t the first time we had an enormous amount of fun working together. We first met during their engagement session in the picturesque town of Manchester-by-the-Sea, and it was clear from the start just how sweet they are together. Exploring the area and photographing them along the beach at sunset was an absolute dream. In moments like these, I’m always reminded of my love for New England and its stunning coastline and overall historic coziness.
Though we had an incredible session, we also really connected beyond photography. As we chatted over drinks after our shoot, Renee and Jake shared their desire to visit Kenya — a place very close to my heart. I love connecting with clients not just as their photographer, but as a fellow traveler and friend, and am always happy to share recommendations or tips for exploring the places that have shaped my own journey.
Renee works in the fashion industry, so it was no surprise that on the wedding day, her fashion choices were nothing short of stunning. She wore a simple, figure-hugging gown that perfectly accentuated her natural beauty and paired it with classic Manolo Blahnik heels, bringing a timeless elegance to her bridal look. Her bridesmaids’ dresses were just as thoughtfully selected, with her two sisters, who also served as maids of honor, wearing cream-colored dresses with delicate blue floral patterns. The rest of her bridesmaids complimented them beautifully in powder blue dresses. The mixed dress trend is a style choice that I hope sticks around; I’m a big fan of the unique and intentional design choices that couples have been making!
One of the most special moments of Renee and Jake’s wedding was right at the very end. After throwing a gorgeous day of celebration, they shared one final, private dance as husband and wife before exiting the venue. All of their family and friends had already gathered outside to greet them with sparklers, but inside, it was just the two of them. As Hozier’s “Work Song” played, they slow-danced, completely in sync and utterly unaware of anything else around them. It was a moment that felt so intimate and personal, a true reflection of their deep connection. Being able to witness such a private and meaningful moment as they began their life together was an honor, and a beautiful ending to Renee and Jake’s dream day.
